Get an early start and respond to gilman@umd.edu so you can learn about the Gilman Scholarship program, upcoming information sessions, and a Gilman Panel with returned UMD Gilman Scholars. We highly encourage you to start before the beginning of the semester so you can submit a strong application!
Eligibility Requirements:
- All Majors
- US Citizens
- Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors,Seniors
- Must be studying abroad for at least 4 weeks
- Must have FAFSA demonstrated financial need and be receiving a Pell Grant.
Application Deadline: March 7, 2017
The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers 1,700 scholarships of up to $5,000 to students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies world-wide. Such international study is intended to better prepare U.S. students to assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world. Programs must be at least 4 weeks in length.
