U.S. Government Affairs Paid Internship
Description
The U.S. Government Affairs office develops and executes strategies to advance MasterCard’s core business and public policy objectives with key federal, state, and global governmental and non-governmental audiences. This position is a part-time Fall or Spring paid internship.
Duties
– Assist staff by conducting legislative research, developing policy fact sheets, tracking federal legislation, and attending congressional hearings and briefings
– Provide staff with support in research and analysis of various topics, organizations, key players in the field, and writing for content generated for external audiences
– Assist in the preparation of Mastercard publications and events
– Assist government affairs staff with maintenance of internal record keeping procedures
– Assist with maintenance and general upkeep of PAC website
– Assist with filing, reports, and other clerical activities as needed
– Researching issues or agency policies for Executive visits to DC
– Other projects as assigned
– Intern will have the opportunity to attend conferences, trade association meetings and events, briefings, forums, and PAC events with government affairs staff on behalf of MA (as deemed appropriate)
– Intern will have the opportunity to meet individually with government affairs staff to discuss career goals
