GC Alumnae Lead AB Trip to Feed Homeless in Chicago - Your Help Needed!
Two GC alumnae - Sohpie Huget and Elenor Aylay - are co-leading an AB trip to Chicago to help feed the homeless spring break 2015.
How can you help?
Check out the message below and follow the Facebook Event Link:
Our UMD Alternative Breaks group is going to Chicago to learn about affordable housing and homelessness and serve those enduring a period of homelessness.
One of our community partners, The Night Ministry, runs the "Health Outreach Bus" that brings medical services and meals to parks to serve the homeless people of Chicago.
We will be preparing and serving a meal in Wicker Park to between 50 and 100 people - and could not be more excited! If you would like to be part of our experience, please drop any of the following items in the drop box (one in Stamp by Testudo, another in the Starbucks on Route 1):
- Beans
- Canned Vegetables
- Dried noodles
- Salt, Pepper
- Tomato Sauce
- Other non-perishables that would do well in a soup
Thanks!
Sophie Huget and Elenor Aylay
