Our faculty at CHDS is focused on
educating defense and security officials from throughout the Western Hemisphere
in order to enhance partner nation capacity and build mutual trust and
confidence among the nations of the hemisphere. To accomplish this objective,
CHDS runs a series of short term, 1-3 week seminars throughout the year here in
Washington as well as numerous other events held in the region. Should you
decide that CHDS is the right opportunity for you, you will have the chance to
work with an international staff, of renown stature, doing research on a
variety of topics. You will also likely assist our administrative staff &
faculty prepare for the courses that we offer or with events that the Center is
organizing. Given the international make-up of our staff, you will also have
the opportunity to work and converse in Spanish as well as English.
We are looking for serious students,
preferably English-Spanish bi-lingual, but we are also interested in Portuguese
speakers.
Each semester, the Center works the
with NDU Young Professionals Society to offer a series of professional
development opportunities focused exclusively on the interns supporting the
work of CHDS as well as National Defense University.
CHDS is flexible with the number of
hours required to participate in the program.
