Help Celebrate Black History Month in College Park-- Come Read to the Students of Paint Branch Elementary School!

When          : Thursday, February 28, 2013 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Where         : 5101 Pierce Avenue in College Park : Paint Branch Elementary School

Event Type(s) : Community Service

The teachers of Paint Branch Elementary School in College Park-- less than one block from the Shuttle UM Circulator Route (125)-- are looking for UMD students to come to the school from 2:30 - 3 pm on Thursday Feb. 28th to read to students from books relating to Black History.

Our teachers would provide the books-- all that we'd like you to do is arrive at the school 15 minutes before the reading time, and come wearing UMD colors or apparel.

The school is extremely interested in having UMD students visit and read to the children-- we here at the school consider these interactions to be very precious and important.  We believe that positive interactions with college students are one main way that our students begin to form college-going aspirations and expectations for themselves.

To register for this activity, please e-mail Emily Adams at eapatov@umd.edu or call 301.852.8074.
