This summer, the University of Maryland's new film
studies program will launch a study abroad course on motion picture
preservation. Learn about the history of cinema and how films are preserved and
restored in Bologna, Italy! No knowledge of Italian is required, and the core
of the trip will be a film festival celebrating cinema from 1896 into the
1970s. This course is open to all undergraduate majors, but applications are
due March 1.
Please see the website below for a description of the
course, and join us for an information session at 4:00 on 2/21 in Tawes 3134.
Also, stick around for a free silent film screening with live music in the same
building at 5:30!
